What are the best youth football Defenses in pee wee football? I personally like the Eagle, 6-2 Defense, 6-2 Wide, 5-3 Defense and on paper the Gap Air Mirror looks very interesting for a youth defense. Pick a Defense that your youth football players can run, not what the NFL is playing.
Here's a nice Strength and Weakness analysis of youth football defenses.

This is a 7 man front with 1 linebacker and safety and 2 corners. That's called the 7 diamond or you have the 7 umbrella with no linebacker and 2 safeties and 2 cornerbacks.
If you are interested in the 6-2 Defense you should check out Coach Wades 6-2 info.
There's not much information on the 5-3 Defense. I use the 5-3 out of the 7-1 when I drop my D-ends back into linebackers off the line for better pass protection. Look at the Eagle Defenses for more information.
If you would like more information on the Gap Air Mirror youth tackle football defense please visit John Reeds website. He has a book on the GAM Defense.
